Satellite Map of Havana, Cuba
Havana is one of the most intriguing Capitals in the world due to several reasons. Under one of the last remaining communist regimes in the world, the celebration of the ideals of the 1959 Revolution are ever present on billboards, signs and monuments. Although it's people constantly live in scarcity, cultural values have high priority, and in Havana, music is everywhere. Son, Cha-Cha, Bolero and Salsa is played to perfection by some street cafe musicians, albeit mostly in it's tourist areas in Habana Vieja (the old town) and Hotels frequented by tourists. Life in Havana Vieja is a lively sauce of blaring televisions, bustling streets (with little motorized traffic), smells of all kinds, crumbling buildings and a make-do mentality which has learned to fix anything beyond hope of repair, simply because no replacements are available. In Vadado and Playa districts, the opulence of former years is all too clear in it's buildings, and it's apparent that even today, this is where the well-to-do live.
